Race the Sun

Dan Scott, our RARE FLYERS lead, was invited to join a team to take on Race the Sun. This race is a team relay set against the stunning backdrop of the Isle of Man. Starting at sunrise in Peel (05:11), the team had to complete a full circuit of the island’s dramatic 100-mile coastal path before sunset at 21:20.

The route follows the Raad ny Foillan, the island’s breathtaking coastal trail.

A determined team of ten runners Chris Kirk, Mark Hagan, Jak Martin, Hannah Teren, Claire Fitzpatrick, Ali Guy, Kelly Gulland, Chris Nudd, Fraser Veale, and Dan took on this epic feat in support of St Thomas' School. Each runner completed one of the ten unique sections of the route, ranging from 10.5 km (6.5 miles) to 18.2 km (12 miles). The course took them over sandy beaches, through glens and across rugged paths with significant elevation.
